Kochi, the base of MBD, is located in the southern part of Japan, known for its relatively warm climate compared to the rest of the country. With a population of 670,000, it’s one of Japan’s least populous regions. However, Kochi is remarkably blessed with natural resources, boasting the highest percentage of forested area in Japan. 83% of Kochi’s area is covered in forests, making it abundant in wood, thus enhancing the quality of timber. The rich natural environment of Kochi nurtures healthy trees with the benefits of fertile soil and ample sunlight, contributing to the high quality of its timber.
