Until the end of the post-spawn period, I recommend using treble hooks.
After the post-spawn period, I switch to quad hooks.

The reason I change hooks depending on the season is because the nature of the fish’s bite changes.
From the spawning period through post-spawn, bass often have weaker bites, so it’s important to prioritize hooks that offer excellent penetration and hooking ability. That’s why treble hooks work best during this time.
After the post-spawn period, more bass begin to hit the BUGWAKE aggressively. When that happens, I switch to quad hooks to increase the number of hook points and improve the hookup rate.
Quad hooks are also heavier than treble hooks, which adds a little more weight to the front of the BUGWAKE and strengthens the action. After post-spawn, fish tend to respond better to stronger action, so switching to quad hooks can also create more bite opportunities.
