Always Getting Better. Regarding Color Changes.

Starting with our next drop, even baits with the same color name will have slightly different tones.
This is because I’ve changed paint manufacturers, and the characteristics of the paints themselves are different — so even familiar color names will now have a new expression.

・Why I made this change

The main reasons are the wider range of colors, improved paint adhesion, and the overall quality of the paint itself.

With more color options, I can now create greater depth in each finish. For example, instead of offering just one bluegill pattern, I can now develop two or three variations. By layering colors — such as yellow over green — complex expressions are created that are hard to capture in photos but become immediately apparent when you hold the bait in hand. Underwater, these subtle shifts feel even more natural, and I believe they influence how fish perceive the bait as well.

As for adhesion, simply put, the paint now resists chipping and peeling better than before. Of course, hard impacts with cover can still cause damage, but overall durability has clearly improved. I believe this is an important evolution for baits meant to be used and enjoyed for a long time.

At MBD, I never settle for the current standard. I will continue making changes to take good things and make them even better. In fact, EDEN and BUGROCK have both become what they are today through many small refinements.
Every MBD bait represents the latest version — always evolving. While molded ABS lures are limited by fixed tooling, handmade baits have no molds, allowing me to flexibly change anything I believe can be improved at that moment. That freedom is one of the greatest strengths of handmade work.

The upcoming first release of BUGROCK WAKE will also benefit from these changes, and I believe you’ll feel the richer, more refined colors right away.
Please look forward to it.
